Just in time for RMVR Driver’s School, I’m selling my 100% race-ready Formula Ford racecar. This car is completely turnkey and ready to race today. It was fully mechanically restored at total cost $25,000 by Pete Christensen of Total Precision engines (approximately 2 hours on new engine). 100% legal, 100% professional, no shortcuts, no surprises!
Merlyn mk24 419/FF/73 was a UK car 1973-74 (essentially, a factory development car), and then was a Canadian car until 1998. It raced at the 1973 Rothmans 500 European Championship meet at Snetterton, UK and the 1974 PepsiPro Invitational at Westwood, Canada. It still carries its original CASC badge, 4-174, and has valid RMVR (CF) and VSCR (FF) racing logbooks.
Rebuild includes new FF custom engine build with FF SCAT crank, Hewland transaxle (#H99-140) set up for wide range of tracks (17:34-19:32-22:30-24:28), new fuel pump, new water pump, new oil system plumbing, new clutch, new shifter/throttle linkages, new Power Cool aluminum radiator/cooling system, new SPA fire suppression system, new foam seat, new Momo FF steering wheel, new Shroth harness (2025), new Panasport Prolite wheels, new Hoosier FF tires, rewiring.
Some spares, including a full set of Ansen kidney slot wheels (with tires), brand-new replacement nosecone from Colchester Racing Developments (builder of Merlyn), new Merlyn badge.
