Our old timers, especially those on corners, will hopefully recall Tim Lyons, nicknamed “Care Bear”, longtime RMVR corner marshall. I had the opportunity today of meeting his grandson, who noticed the Datsun shirt I was wearing and prompted a chat on vintage racing. I started as a marshall in 1993, and transitioned to a driver, but Tim and I were regular workers at many of our races. I am sad to report Tim passed away a few months ago, and his grandson misses him, his cars, and seeing him work at HPR.
